Mission
The mission of Herbst Palace Museum is to inspire to deepen the knowledge and understanding of arts, culture and social history of the 19th and 19th/20th centuries through direct contact with artworks.
Main tasks of the Museum include the developing of a platform to discuss various phenomena and issues relevant to culture and arts of that period. Developing new, multidimensional perspectives and reinterpreting the collection from the view point of a contemporary visitor takes place through collecting and processing the collection as well as by means of exhibitions, research projects, educational programmes, and social actions. The collections are the source of knowledge both to visitors who are already familiar with arts and to those to whom it is a new experience.
