Herbst Palace Museum - guidebook
Herbst Palace inseparably links with the history of the Herbst and the Scheibler families, considered the most wealthy and influential industrialists’ families not only in Łódź but also in all the territory of Poland in the 2nd half of the 19th century.
After a two-year break (between 2011-13) caused by modernisation, the Palace reopened to visitors. The décor and new arrangement of the palace interiors were designed based on the documentation of the conservation office and previously unknown archive photographic materials. New sources of information helped us bring the interiors closer to their original style of the days when the Herbst family resided in them.
In connection with the reopening of the Palace, the Museum prepared a guidebook around interiors and gardens of the Herbsts residence in two bilingual editions: Polish – German and Polish - English. A 120-page, generously illustrated guide-book is the source of knowledge about the history of the Palace and illustrates the design, paintings and artistic craft.
